Just a shout-out there to U2! I will try to sleep early tonight so that i can wake up on time to join you guys for cell from 7.30-9pm (Singapore time) !
I've got lessons from 9.30-10.45 so i can't stay longer than 9!

Facing the Giants
went for Yuen Mun's YWAM(youth with a mission) graduation last thursday and the message shared by Rev James Chan who is the director of YWAM Singapore spoke to me.As I heard him exhort the graduates from April's intake,it acted as a catalyst for the goals that I had for this coming semester and it motivated me to act on them.
I know that as I go through the next 8 weeks, that it would not be just balancing both camp and school but the evidence of character development through the effective usage of time especially during the past 6 weeks which consisted of connecting with people, which would enable all my necessary doings for this semester.
He shared of the battle that David dared to undertake in facing Goliath and of Nehemiah where even those who are not called to a full time ministry can be bold to face the giants and defeat them.These giants may include those that we need to take on such as negative mindsets to the Gospel on behalf of others,by being that bridge for them to know God.
John Wesley states that when you set youself on fire, people love to come and see you burn.Its a choice that is centred on running with God rather than waiting for others to carry you through the storms of life. .If John C.Maxwell's maxim is that everything rises and falls on leadership,and the word everything just like all, means everything,then my doing which comes from my being close to God must have that clear purpose of his leading me to fulfill all that he wants me to do and not succumb to the urge of the giants' call for a comfortable but "second best" life.

Light of the world
hello john! it's great to see your post as i arose this morning and prepare myself for my first day @ school, and i'm really encouraged to see you soaking in the Lord's presence...indeed the Lord is so powerfully personal no matter where He has placed us. can see you are adjusting quite well over there? continue to be faithful in the small things in Your walk with the Lord and im sure He's preparing you for the mission He has for you over there!
today also marks the day that our cell group are all finally back in school (since the smu peeps start sch today!) as i spend time with the Lord, reflecting, i felt chided by the Lord in terms of how i've been living my christian walk as led more by the flesh than the Spirit, hanging onto my rights in life... and it just dawned upon me that as much as we are children of God, we are also called to be slaves of the Lord and behold, a slave doesn't hold onto his/her own rights. i'm amazed by how Paul says "i discipline my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified" (1Cor9:27). i guess it's also a call to me and to us that we must decrease and Christ must increase in our lives and in all that we do.
only then can we really be the light of the world. "the gods of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ" (2Cor4:4). we are the light through which many in our campuses can see the Lord, so let's not allow it to remain hidden under the basket of fears, inadequacies, sin or busyness...but to arise shine for the light has come! in order that the light of the Lord can pierce through the darkness, we surely must decrease amen?
not that i have attained it, but as i post this, i'm challenging myself n learning to walk in His ways too... post more, mates! :)

Light of the Lord
So I'm having quiet time now, modeled a little after our Cell sessions, so yeah righ tnow i'm in the phase of Praise & Worship.
Yeah you guys may find it weird why i'm blogging(something so modern-ugly & plebeian) while i'm in my 'Quiet time', well i dunno just as i was so engrossed in P&W, i was so filled with joy and power at the Lord's presence in me, so strongly that i just wanted to share the moment with my beloved cell.
Right now the Hillsong-King of Majesty is powering up my P&W, courtesy of Ah Boon & i thank God for Hillsong! I'm just moving along with the Spirit so strong wihthin me as i enter into worship and prepare myself for the Lord, and only for the Lord. Indeed He is worth of praise, only He is worthy of praise.
Attached is a picture taken from where i'm sitting and typing off, it's probably my default position cos this is where i will do most of my work, reading, facing the window.
This window was especiallly significant this morning. My roomate has like an opposite bodyclock from mine so he like sleeps off the great American morning and early afternoon. Being nice and accomodating i leave the room in dark till he wakes, but yet the power and the light of the Lord is so strong it conquers all darkness. Hopefully you can see from the photo how the strong light of the Lord is still shining in & pervading the darkness.
Only the Light of the Lord allows us to perceive what is darkness. Only the grace and sacrifice of the Cross allows us to perceive our dark and sinful nature. I'm just so empowered and encouraged that the Lord of the light trimphs all darkness, shining into my room despite all my human attempts to keep the room dark.
I was just moving & waving along to the Spirit, reaching out to the Light and giving praise to it, feeling connected, and i guessed if my room-mate awoke and saw me doing that he will think i'm mad. ANd yes indeed I amm mad for Christ! Hallelujah!
On this Sabbath morning (US time) i just want to share how this simple experience is applicable in our lives. No matter how sinful we are, no matter how much we try to hide from or suppress our sinful natures, only the mighty Light of the Lord shall justify us.
Sometimes we are ashamed, guilty or in denial of the Lord, however this loving God is always chasing after us like a relentless suitor, never giving up despite our rejection of His glory, His Kingdom, His Law. Indeed by this comfortable knowledge I am ever-ready to stop, turn back, repent & belive in the Good News.
And by His grace i am forgiven, I am shameless and blameless, for all was taken up in the Cross and all have died with Him on it, and all have risen as He conquered death. Amen.
Our Lord is a Lord of Life, not of Death. A Lord of Life who had conquered Death. The World is at your feet O Lord. Praise God Hallelujah!

Well before i start to post stuff about my new phase of life in NC, US, i thought i should post up some photos we took at Kuishinbo restaurant, well just in case you guys forget my hansome face haha!
Awrite enough buey3 hiao2 bai4 from me, i just thought the pictures came out nice and this was an easier way to share them! Enjoy!
And for those who weren't there in person, i know u were there in spirit. And after looking and hearing about some of the foood there, you would want to be there in full body.
But remember, even all these yummy food will still make us hungry after awhile, remember to eat of the Bread of Life that gives eternal life and satisfaction.

Entering into God's new season for our lives
U2 stands for University 2 where it is made up of students from Singapore Management University and the National University of Singapore.We believe that the love of God will empower our lives to love many others in our campuses too.
